Our Esteemed Guest Speaker: Dan Borné

If you’ve been to an LSU Tigers football or basketball game in the last 30+ years, you’ve heard Dan Borné’s voice, but his notoriety does not end there.

Before retiring in 2016, Borné served as president of the Louisiana Chemical Association (LCA), the Louisiana Chemical Industry Alliance (LCIA) and the Louisiana Foundation for Excellence in Science, Technology and Education (LaFeste), and he served as treasurer of the Louisiana Political Action Committee. Thirty years prior to joining the LCA, Borné was a Vice President of Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation where he also coordinated the company's public and governmental affairs throughout the South for 10 years.

A Thibodeaux native, Borné has degrees from Nicholls State and LSU. He has held multiple political communications roles in both state and federal government, serving under Gov. Edwin Edwards and U.S. Senators Russell Long and Allen Ellender. Borné also has anchored news, sports and public affairs programming for WAFB.

Borné chairs and serves on multiple foundation and business boards across the state, and serves as Bishop Michael Duca's communications secretary and a Deacon for the Diocese of Baton Rouge.
