Job Description
The Iberville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is seeking a talented individual to be the key advocate and representative for business owners and employers in Iberville parish.  The Chamber Executive Director is charged with implementation of the Chamber’s annual program of work.  The Executive Director maintains close contact with all chamber members to understand needs and works with the board to support business needs.  The Director actively works to recruit new chamber members and build networks for member businesses to be successful.
Key Job Responsibilities and Accountability:
  • Maintains close relationship with chamber members
  • Understands and advocates for business needs in the area
  • Plans, hosts and facilitates all chamber events & programs
  • Provides a variety of networking and educational opportunities for members
  • Guides development and implements annual program of work
  • Prepares operating budget
  • Oversees the Revolving Loan Program
  • Provides technical assistance to businesses requiring counseling and information regarding services available from various agencies
  • Develops and implements marketing strategy
  • Oversees chamber website and social media presence to serve members
  • Manages training and tools to volunteer board members on duties
  • Maintains and guides a staff adequate to carry out the chamber programs.
  • Identifies and solicits new members

Multiple backgrounds will be considered; however, the following expertise is valued:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or marketing is preferred
  • Experience:  proven effective communication skills both written and oral, strategic planning, budgeting, history of collaboratively and positively working with others of diverse backgrounds and opinions.
  • The selected individual must have excellent interpersonal skills, capacity to learn, high levels of initiative, and be able to effectively develop relationships.
